The Friend From Afar

I watch you day after day &
Everyday you turn me away
I have sit here so long trying
To be strong hoping you'll come along
To take a chance to get to know me
But things remain to be distant & strange between you & me
I don't know if you want me to stay or go away
I have so much more to give but my heart is in dismay
I don't want to complicate things if stress my presence brings
I want to put you mind at ease 
All I want is a chance please
To be a friend to you If you want me to be
I just care about you I need you to see I do & it's true
Time after time I've been there for you did you even notice 
me there have you been unaware? 
I feel your energy at times & pray you find comfort some way
I feel the isolation that consumes your spirit & wish I could be near it
So it doesn't feel alone anymore
I just want to offer a soft place for you to fall if you need it at all
Just know I care & there is a friend for you here.

I was concerned for him every day Although I knew he'd never look my way I felt drawn to him in so many odd ways His eyes touched the deepest depth of my being I knew I was wishing for hopeless things & dreaming But this man was like no other I had ever known it was as if he could see the real me without being shown it at all I wanted to walk away but it was if his soul would call and I could not turn away at all no matter how hard I tried to go astray It was if our connection was yet unknown but kept us near With him I had no fear I could be myself and not be afraid to reach out My mind was always tossing me doubts but my heart knew better it never wavered for it was his essence I savored I longed to feel his touch but I knew I wanted too much I want fate to decide so I will be patient and wait What is meant to be will always find a way & I hope to meet this man someday. When I feel my patience running thin I think again I think of how much I love you and how your heart has touched my soul so unique  and new  I try to be understanding and caring because I know the burdens you are bearing It is hard to say what I feel when I look at you It is true No words can comprehend my feelings  deep in my soul I have no control Many times I thought of giving up and I think no more could be given but My love for you keeps me driven Love does not take kindly to changes so abrupt Why tear down what has taken so long  to build up?
