So Much More to Me

On my worst day I
will never turn a friend away
I rein in my sincerest feelings
for those who deserve hearing them
I do not want to fit in cause
I have to be true to who I am within
I am not possessive or discreet but
I am very sweet
If you take the chance to get to know me
You will see that I am true to me
I talk to many people but trust very
few but to open myself completely I
must know that person well
Your secrets I will not tell
because I expect the same as well
Respect you I must to fully trust
Most may think I am unkind and cold
but I protect my fold
Your honor I will defend to the end
Never again will you find a truer friend
I will never take for granted those 
who are there for me If you could
use a friend like me Take time to
get to know me I only show you what I want
you to see but for those close to me they
always get the best of me.
This world is full of fakes and
deceivers & though I am distant
I am a consistent friend make time
for me and you will see
There is so much more to me.
Open your eyes and look past
my protectant disguise I am
vulnerable within cause I love
with all I got in me & never expect
a reward or fee look within & you will surely
see I am just me.

I was concerned for him every day Although I knew he'd never look my way I felt drawn to him in so many odd ways His eyes touched the deepest depth of my being I knew I was wishing for hopeless things & dreaming But this man was like no other I had ever known it was as if he could see the real me without being shown it at all I wanted to walk away but it was if his soul would call and I could not turn away at all no matter how hard I tried to go astray It was if our connection was yet unknown but kept us near With him I had no fear I could be myself and not be afraid to reach out My mind was always tossing me doubts but my heart knew better it never wavered for it was his essence I savored I longed to feel his touch but I knew I wanted too much I want fate to decide so I will be patient and wait What is meant to be will always find a way & I hope to meet this man someday. When I feel my patience running thin I think again I think of how much I love you and how your heart has touched my soul so unique  and new  I try to be understanding and caring because I know the burdens you are bearing It is hard to say what I feel when I look at you It is true No words can comprehend my feelings  deep in my soul I have no control Many times I thought of giving up and I think no more could be given but My love for you keeps me driven Love does not take kindly to changes so abrupt Why tear down what has taken so long  to build up?
